October 26th, 2017 at 8 P.M.[:de]Die Erfolgsproduktion des Pfalztheaters Kaiserslautern „Blutnacht“ kommt als Special Musik Event in einer konzertanten Fassung in die Fruchthalle.
Von der Lauterer Kultband Vanden Plas musikalisch mitreißend und treibend in Szene gesetzt, werden die Figuren und Motive aus dem Hohlbein-Romanzyklus “Die Chronik der Unsterblichen”durch die Protagonisten der Kaiserslauterer Aufführung zum Leben erweckt.
Mit von der Partie sind:
Astrid Vosberg als Göttin Meruhe
Andy Kuntz als Andrej Delãny
Manuel Lothschütz als schwarzer Ritter
sowie die Mitglieder des Extra Chores des Pfalztheaters Kaiserslautern.
Als Special Guest wird Fantasy-Starautor Wolfgang Hohlbein an diesem Abend selbst als Erzähler in das Geschehen auf der Bühne eingreifen!
Der Unsterbliche Andrej Delãny ist hin und hergerissen zwischen der Verlockung der Macht und der Liebe seines Lebens. Als ihn der Schwarze Ritter mit einer magischen Waffe niederstreckt, will ihn die Göttin Meruhe zum Gott an ihrer Seite erheben. Andrej aber windet sich, will mit Hilfe eines Elixiers neue Kräfte sammeln und noch einmal gegen den geheimnisvollen Ritter antreten. Auf seiner prüfungsreichen Reise zum letzen Gefecht muss er erkennen, dass es nur die Liebe ist, die ihn noch retten kann.

In their long career, Vanden Plas has until now produced only one live album: “Spirit of Live,” recorded in Paris at the legendary Elysée Montmartre, was released in 2000. With the upcoming release of “The Seraphic Liveworks,” the wait for another live long-player is finally over.
On many tours and in countless concerts, Vanden Plas has proven again and again that it is among the world’s leading Prog-Metal bands. The quintet’s glowing reputation carries across the pond to the USA, where Vanden Plas was invited to appear at the renowned Prog Power Festival in Atlanta in 2011. Regardless of a band’s fame, an invitation to this prestigious venue is an honor, and their performance will certainly retain an exceptional place in the Vanden Plas history.
It is for exactly that reason that Vanden Plas decided to record that unique moment.
“The Seraphic Liveworks” is the name of the CD and DVD limited edition double pack. It shows unmistakably how extraordinary this gig at Center Stage Theater was for everyone involved. A performance exploding with energy, a euphoric audience, and the venue’s own special flair; the recordings will captivate every viewer. There is no question that Vanden Plas made the right decision to preserve this performance for eternity.
“The Seraphic Liveworks” fascinates for 9 songs, beginning with the straightforward opener “Postcard to God” through the atmospheric “Far Off Grace” to the brilliant closer “Silently.” In this extended live version of the song, Vanden Plas ignites a Prog-Metal-Fireworks-Display that is unparalleled, leading the listener through more than 11 magnificent minutes to a spectacular conclusion.
Vanden Plas is delighted to have fans all over the world. Those who have not yet been able to experience the band live now have the chance to close the gap with “The Seraphic Liveworks.” The CD and DVD capture an authentic band that stands out in the Prog-Metal genre.

English translation: Cynthia Nay[:de]In ihrer langen Laufbahn veröffentlichten Vanden Plas bisher lediglich eine einzige Liveplatte: „Spirit Of Live“ – seinerzeit in Paris im legendären Elysée Montmartre aufgenommen – wurde im Jahr 2000 released. Das Warten auf einen weiteren Live-Longplayer hat nun endlich ein Ende, denn jetzt steht der Release von „The Seraphic Liveworks“ an.
Auf vielen Tourneen und in unzähligen Konzerten haben Vanden Plas immer wieder gezeigt, dass sie zu den weltweit führenden Prog-Metal-Gruppen gehören. Der glänzende Ruf des Quintetts hallt sogar über den Großen Teich bis in die USA, und so wurden Vanden Plas 2011 zum renommierten Prog Power-Festival in Atlanta eingeladen. Trotz aller Klasse ist ein Auftritt bei diesem besonderen Event keine Selbstverständlichkeit, sodass die Show in der Vanden Plas-Historie sicherlich einen ganz speziellen Stellenwert einnimmt. Und genau aus diesen Gründen hatte sich die Band damals entschlossen, den einzigartigen Moment mitzuschneiden.
„The Seraphic Liveworks“ heißt der Doppeldecker aus CD und DVD, der deutlich macht, wie außergewöhnlich dieser Gig im Center Stage Theater für alle Beteiligten gewesen ist. Eine energiegeladene Show, das euphorische Publikum und das ganz spezielle Flair in diesem Venue, bedingt durch die Nähe zu den Fans: die Aufnahmen fesseln sicherlich jeden Zuschauer. Rückblickend betrachtet muss man feststellen, dass Vanden Plas damals die richtige Entscheidung trafen, genau diesen Auftritt für die Ewigkeit festzuhalten.
„The Seraphic Liveworks“ begeistert elf Stücke lang, beginnend mit dem straighten Opener „Postcard To God“, über das atmosphärische „Far Off Grace“ bis hin zum fulminanten Abschluss „Silently“, bei dem Vanden Plas ein Prog-Metal-Feuerwerk sondergleichen abbrennen, baute man gegenüber der Studioversion zusätzliche Arrangements ein, die den Track erst nach zehn Minuten grandios enden lassen.

Vanden Plas to contribute song for Saltatio Mortis
Vanden Plas contributes a song for the Number one chart Album from Saltatio Mortis. They guys have produced an english version of the SaMo classic “Krieg kennt keine Sieger”. Together with Genre magnitutes like der Graf, Doro, Subway to Sally you can find this version on the new album “Zirkus Zeitgeist” which dropped in the official media control charts from 0 to 1 a few weeks ago.
