When did you learn to play drums, and do you have any other hidden talents?
I started to play drums at the age of 15. Before that I tried to learn bass a little bit but the drums were the only real instrument for me.

What was your first band?
Exodus(German band with 3! gigs)

What was the first song you learned to play?
All songs from the "Sex Pistols" album "Never Mind the Bollocks".

Have you been in any other band?
Headsocks (German band with Stephan Lill on guitar, covering 80s heavy hits to heavy hip-hop versions).

What side projects have you done?
Musicals: Jesus Christ Superstar, Little Shop of Horrors, Evita, The Rocky Horror Show, Nostradamus, Abydos.
Bands: Abydos, Section A, Winterlong, Ian Parry´s Visions, Missa Mercuria.

What do you like to do when you get time away from Vanden Plas?
I try to complete my work on the drums in any different styles of music and drumming...

What other bands have influenced you?
Van Halen, King's X, Journey.

What bands would you like to tour with in the future?
I think there are a lot of bands which have a style which is close to ours - like Dream Theater, Symphony X... - so that it would be great for us and for the audience to have this package on the road.

What bands or artists would you like to play with?
I don't have any special artist but I\´m interested in playing drums to any kind of music to enlarge my knowledge on the drums.

Are there any bands you like to see reunite?
I think there is always a reason for these bands to split because it's hard for a few different band members to stay together for a long time. For a long time I hoped that Van Halen would reunite with David Lee Roth (the only true Van Halen line-up) but I think it will never happen.

What was your favorite tour or show?
Favourite tour: With Dream Theater 1997/1998, favourite show: Elysee Montmartre / Paris 2000.

Is there some musical album or event that had a lasting impression upon your life?
Not a very special one, but every album or event has had a special impression in its own kind to me. There are every time some very special things happening which you won't forget.
